The Holosun AEMS CORE X2 Green Dot Sight (AEMS-CORE-X2-GR) is an enclosed-emitter rifle green dot sight with a single 2 MOA green dot reticle, a 1.1 × 0.87 in (28 × 22 mm) viewing window and a lower-1/3 co-witness mount supplied in the box.
It is the simplest member of the AEMS CORE X2 line: no Multi-Reticle System and no solar panel, just one clean aiming dot. The human eye is most sensitive to green light, so many shooters find the green dot easier to pick up against hedgerow, woodland and cluttered backgrounds. The X2 optical system reduces parallax by up to 50% against the previous generation, and Shake Awake gives up to 50,000 hours of runtime from a single CR2032.
How it compares
The AEMS CORE X2 red dot sight is the same optic with a red reticle. Step up to the AEMS PRO X2 green dot sight for the Multi-Reticle System and Solar Failsafe. Browse the full range of green dot sights and enclosed red dot sights, or read our comparison of green and red reticles.
Ideal for
- Civilian Service Rifle and practical rifle shooting on straight-pull AR-pattern carbines
- Night fox and vermin control, where a green dot stays visible against dark ground
- Practical shotgun and 3-Gun stages that reward a large window and fast acquisition
- Airsoft skirmishing and training rifles that need a sealed, weatherproof dot

What reticle does the Holosun AEMS CORE X2 Green Dot Sight use?
The Holosun AEMS CORE X2 Green Dot Sight uses a single 2 MOA green dot reticle. It does not have the Multi-Reticle System, so there is no circle-dot option and no reticle switching.
Is the green version of the AEMS CORE X2 different from the red?
Only the reticle colour differs. The Holosun AEMS CORE X2 Green Dot Sight shares the same enclosed housing, 1.1 × 0.87 in window, 0.5 MOA clicks and lower-1/3 mount as the red model, and many shooters find green easier to see because the eye is most sensitive to that part of the spectrum.
What battery does the Holosun AEMS CORE X2 take and how long does it last?
The Holosun AEMS CORE X2 runs on one CR2032 coin cell and gives up to 50,000 hours of runtime. Shake Awake switches the dot off when the rifle is still and wakes it the instant the rifle is moved.
Will the Holosun AEMS CORE X2 co-witness with AR-pattern iron sights?
Yes. The Holosun AEMS CORE X2 is supplied with a lower-1/3 co-witness mount, which sits the dot high enough that standard AR-height iron sights appear in the lower third of the window.
Is the Holosun AEMS CORE X2 waterproof enough for British weather?
Yes. The Holosun AEMS CORE X2 has a fully enclosed emitter and a 7075-T6 aluminium housing rated IP67, so rain and mud cannot reach the emitter and interrupt the dot.
