The SureFire E2D Defender Ultra Tactical Flashlight, part number E2DLU-A, is a cylindrical two-cell handheld torch producing 1000 lumens output on high and 5 lumens on low, with 11,300 candela peak beam intensity for 213 metres of beam distance.
A micro-textured reflector gives a smooth beam with balanced spill rather than a hard-edged hotspot, and the dual-output tailcap puts high and low under the thumb. Runtime is 1.5 hours on high and 63 hours on low from two CR123A lithium cells. The aerospace aluminium body carries SureFire's crenelated bezel, which shields the lens and adds grip when the torch is stood on its head, and is 5.6 in (14.2 cm) long, 4.2 oz (119 g) and rated IPX7.
How it compares
For a flat-bodied rechargeable pocket torch instead, see the Stiletto Pro torch. For long-range turbo throw, the EDC2-DFT Turbo torch reaches 632 metres. Browse all SureFire handheld torches, the wider handheld flashlights range, or see our lumens vs candela chart.
Ideal for
- Everyday carry — a torch small enough to live in a pocket or jacket
- Night walking and dog walking on unlit lanes, footpaths and bridleways
- Farm, kennels, stables and yard checks after dark
- Vehicle, workshop and glovebox use
