The Burris Handgun Scope 2-7x32mm Ballistic Plex Posi-Lock Matte Black (200299) is a long-eye-relief handgun scope with 2-7x magnification, a 32mm objective and a 1-inch main tube. Long eye relief is what defines the category: at 11–21 in (279–533 mm) at low power, 10–14 in (254–356 mm) at high of eye relief, you get a full sight picture with the gun held well forward of your face and clear of the recoil stroke.
The Ballistic Plex reticle is Burris's trajectory-compensating reticle, with holdover points giving trajectory compensation out to 500 yards. Waterproof and nitrogen-filled to prevent internal fogging, with a double internal spring-tension system that holds zero through shock, recoil and vibration. This model adds Posi-Lock: once you have zeroed, it mechanically locks the erector system in place, pinning the internal assembly against shifting under heavy recoil. It is the single feature that separates 200299 from the otherwise identical 200279.

Ideal for
- Long-barrelled revolvers and pistols, where the sight picture has to work with the gun held well forward of the face
- Scout-style forward mounting on a rifle, where a conventional scope has no usable eye relief at that distance
- Heavy-recoiling guns where the optic must sit well clear of the shooter — Posi-Lock adds a mechanical erector lock on this model
- Shooters who need holdover references rather than dialling
- Anyone comparing the range against our other handgun scopes

Why does the Burris 2-7x32mm handgun scope need such long eye relief?
Because the gun is held out in front of you rather than against the shoulder. The Burris 200299 gives 11–21 in (279–533 mm) at low power, 10–14 in (254–356 mm) at high of eye relief, so you get a full sight picture from a normal shooting position and stay clear of the recoil stroke.
What is the difference between the Plex and Ballistic Plex reticles?
Plex is a clean crosshair with bolded outer edges and no holdover points. Ballistic Plex adds trajectory-compensating holdover points out to 500 yards, matched to your calibre and bullet weight. The Burris 200299 has the Ballistic Plex reticle.
Is the parallax adjustable on the Burris 200299?
No — it is fixed at 100 yards. The 3-12x32 (200309) is the only model in the Burris handgun line with adjustable parallax.
What rings does the Burris 200299 need?
It has a 1-inch (25.4 mm) main tube, so it needs a pair of 1-inch rings or a 1-inch mount matched to your gun's base.
Is the Burris 200299 waterproof?
Yes. It is waterproof and nitrogen-filled to stop internal fogging, with a double internal spring-tension system that holds zero through shock, recoil and vibration.
What does Posi-Lock do on the Burris 200299?
Posi-Lock mechanically locks the erector system after you have zeroed, so the internals cannot shift under heavy recoil. It is the only difference between 200299 and the otherwise identical 200279.
Can I buy this Burris handgun scope in the UK?
Yes — it is an optic rather than a firearm, and we dispatch it tracked from the UK. What you may lawfully fit it to depends on your firearm certificate and the law where you shoot, so please check your own certificate conditions; we cannot advise on licensing.
Every order is shipped from the UK with tracked delivery, with an estimated delivery time of 7–10 working days. Unused items in their original packaging can be returned within 30 days for a full refund.
