The SureFire M640DF Scout Light Pro Weapon Light, part number M640DF-TN-PRO, is a full-size rifle-mounted LED weapon light in Tan. It produces 1500 lumens output and 16,000 candela peak beam intensity on the SF18650 rechargeable cell — a wide, bright working beam rather than a tight long-throw hotspot.
DF stands for Dual Fuel: the light runs one SF18650 rechargeable cell (1500 lumens output, approximately 1.5 hours runtime) or two CR123A lithium primaries (1200 lumens output, approximately 1.25 hours runtime), with 16,000 candela peak beam intensity giving roughly 253 metres of beam distance. The low-profile Scout Light Pro mount fits M-LOK and Picatinny rails, and the aerospace aluminium body is sealed to IPX7.
How it compares
Also available in M640DF Scout Light Pro rifle light in Black. If you need distance rather than flood, the M640DFT Scout Light Pro Turbo rifle light focuses the same body to 100,000 candela; for a simpler CR123A-only light, see the M640U Scout Light Pro rifle light. Browse all SureFire rifle weapon lights and Scout Light switches and tailcaps, or see our lumens vs candela chart.
Ideal for
- Farm, kennels and yard work after dark, where a wide beam beats a narrow one
- Close and mid-range work on a carbine — searching sheds, hedgerows and outbuildings
- Practical shotgun, 3-Gun and airsoft rifles on M-LOK or Picatinny handguards
- Low-light range practice and night shoots

Which rails does the SureFire M640DF Scout Light Pro fit?
The SureFire M640DF Scout Light Pro ships with a low-profile Scout Light Pro mount that fits M-LOK and Picatinny rails directly.
Which remote switch or tailcap works with the M640DF?
SureFire lists the DS00, DS07, DS-SR07, SR07, ST07 and UE-SR07 switches for the Scout Light M300, M600 and M640 families, so all six fit this light. The DS07 remote switch adds a remote pressure pad and the DS00 tailcap switch is the tailcap on its own.
What is the difference between the 1500 lumens and the 16,000 candela figures?
On the SureFire M640DF Scout Light Pro, 1500 lumens is the total light the emitter puts out and 16,000 candela is how tightly that light is focused. The M640DF is deliberately a wide flood, giving approximately 253 metres of beam distance with plenty of spill for close work.
How long does the M640DF run?
The SureFire M640DF Scout Light Pro runs for approximately 1.5 hours on the SF18650 rechargeable cell and approximately 1.25 hours on two CR123A lithium primaries.
Is the M640DF rechargeable?
Yes — the SureFire M640DF Scout Light Pro is Dual Fuel, running a rechargeable SF18650 lithium cell or two CR123A lithium primaries.
M640DF or M640DFT — which is right for me?
Choose the SureFire M640DF Scout Light Pro for a bright 1500-lumen flood at close and mid range; choose the M640DFT Scout Light Pro Turbo if you need 100,000 candela and 632 metres of throw for identification at distance.
