The SureFire EDC2-DFT Turbo Dual Fuel Tactical Flashlight, part number EDC2-DFT-HA, is a two-cell everyday-carry torch in Hard Anodized. It produces 1200 lumens output and 100,000 candela peak beam intensity for 632 metres of beam distance — the longest reach in SureFire's EDC range.
DFT stands for Dual Fuel Turbo: the turbo head concentrates the beam, and the torch runs the SF18650 rechargeable lithium cell or two CR123A lithium primaries, for 2.5 hours of runtime. The body is 5.84 in (14.8 cm) long, weighs 5.5 oz (156 g), and is rated IPX7.
How it compares
Also available in SureFire EDC2-DFT Turbo torch in Black. Also available in SureFire EDC2-DFT Turbo torch in Tan. For a shorter single-cell torch at 650 lumens, see the EDC1-DFT Turbo torch; for a wide 1500-lumen flood beam instead of a hotspot, the Fury Dual Fuel torch. Browse all SureFire handheld torches, the wider tactical lighting range, or see our lumens vs candela chart.
Ideal for
- Lamping and night fox or vermin spotting, where a tight high-candela beam reaches out
- Everyday carry — a torch small enough to live in a pocket or jacket
- Farm, kennels, stables and yard checks after dark
- Night walking and dog walking on unlit lanes, footpaths and bridleways

How far does the SureFire EDC2-DFT throw?
The SureFire EDC2-DFT Turbo produces 100,000 candela peak beam intensity for 632 metres of beam distance. Candela describes how tightly the beam is focused and is what determines throw; the 1200 lumens figure is total output.
Is the SureFire EDC2-DFT rechargeable, and what batteries does it take?
Yes — the SureFire EDC2-DFT Turbo is Dual Fuel. It runs the SF18650 rechargeable lithium cell supplied with it, or two CR123A lithium primaries as a backup.
How long does the SureFire EDC2-DFT run?
The SureFire EDC2-DFT Turbo runs for 2.5 hours.
How big is the SureFire EDC2-DFT?
The SureFire EDC2-DFT Turbo is 5.84 in (14.8 cm) long and weighs 5.5 oz (156 g).
EDC2-DFT or EDC1-DFT — which should I choose?
The SureFire EDC2-DFT is the two-cell torch, at 1200 lumens, 100,000 candela and 2.5 hours; the EDC1-DFT is shorter and lighter at 650 lumens, 95,000 candela and 1.5 hours.
Is the SureFire EDC2-DFT waterproof?
The SureFire EDC2-DFT Turbo carries an IPX7 rating.
