The SureFire EDC1-DFT Turbo Dual Fuel Tactical Flashlight, part number EDC1-DFT-TN, is a single-cell everyday-carry torch in Tan. It produces 650 lumens output and 95,000 candela peak beam intensity for approximately 616 metres of beam distance — long-range throw from a torch that fits a trouser pocket.
DFT stands for Dual Fuel Turbo: the turbo head concentrates the beam, and the torch runs the included SF18350 rechargeable lithium cell or a CR123A lithium primary as a backup, for approximately 1.5 hours of runtime. The body is 4.9 in (12.4 cm) long, weighs 4.1 oz (116 g), and is aerospace aluminium with an IPX7 rating.
How it compares
Also available in SureFire EDC1-DFT Turbo torch in Black. Also available in SureFire EDC1-DFT Turbo torch in Hard Anodized. For a two-cell body at 1200 lumens and 100,000 candela, see the EDC2-DFT Turbo torch; for a slim flood-beam pocket torch instead, the Stiletto Pro torch. Browse all SureFire handheld torches, the wider handheld flashlights range, or see our lumens vs candela chart.
Ideal for
- Everyday carry — a torch small enough to live in a pocket or jacket
- Lamping and night fox or vermin spotting, where a tight high-candela beam reaches out
- Night walking and dog walking on unlit lanes, footpaths and bridleways
- Farm, kennels, stables and yard checks after dark

How far does the SureFire EDC1-DFT throw?
The SureFire EDC1-DFT Turbo produces 95,000 candela peak beam intensity for 616 metres of beam distance. Candela measures how tightly the beam is focused and is what determines throw, while the 650 lumens figure is total output.
Is the SureFire EDC1-DFT rechargeable, and what batteries does it take?
Yes — the SureFire EDC1-DFT Turbo is Dual Fuel. It ships with a rechargeable SF18350 lithium cell and a charging cable, and will also run on a CR123A lithium primary as a backup.
How long does the SureFire EDC1-DFT run?
The SureFire EDC1-DFT Turbo runs for approximately 1.5 hours.
How big is the SureFire EDC1-DFT?
The SureFire EDC1-DFT Turbo is 4.9 in (12.4 cm) long and weighs 4.1 oz (116 g), which makes it a genuine pocket torch despite its throw.
EDC1-DFT or EDC2-DFT — which should I choose?
The SureFire EDC1-DFT is the compact single-cell torch at 650 lumens and 95,000 candela; the EDC2-DFT uses a larger cell for 1200 lumens, 100,000 candela and 2.5 hours of runtime.
Is the SureFire EDC1-DFT waterproof?
The SureFire EDC1-DFT Turbo carries an IPX7 rating.
