The SureFire M640U Scout Light Pro Weapon Light, part number M640U-BK-PRO, is a full-size rifle-mounted LED weapon light in Black. It produces 1000 lumens output and 11,300 candela peak beam intensity from two CR123A lithium cells, for approximately 213 metres of beam distance.
The M640U is the straightforward primary-cell Scout Light Pro: no charging to manage, just two CR123A lithium cells for approximately 1.25 hours of runtime. Its beam is a broad, even flood suited to searching and close work rather than distance. The low-profile Scout Light Pro mount fits M-LOK and Picatinny rails, and the aerospace aluminium body is rated IPX7.
How it compares
Also available in M640U Scout Light Pro rifle light in Tan. For a rechargeable body with 1500 lumens, see the M640DF Scout Light Pro rifle light; for 100,000 candela of throw, the M640DFT Scout Light Pro Turbo rifle light. Browse all SureFire rifle weapon lights and Scout Light switches and tailcaps, or see our lumens vs candela chart.
Ideal for
- Farm, kennels and yard work after dark, where a wide beam is more useful than a narrow one
- Shooters who prefer primary cells that store for years over a rechargeable pack
- Practical shotgun, 3-Gun and airsoft rifles on M-LOK or Picatinny handguards
- Low-light range practice and night shoots

Which rails does the SureFire M640U Scout Light Pro fit?
The SureFire M640U Scout Light Pro ships with a low-profile Scout Light Pro mount that fits M-LOK and Picatinny rails directly.
Which remote switch or tailcap works with the M640U?
SureFire lists the DS00, DS07, DS-SR07, SR07, ST07 and UE-SR07 switches for the Scout Light M300, M600 and M640 families, so all six fit this light. The DS00 tailcap switch is the tailcap on its own and the DS-SR07 remote dual switch adds a remote pressure pad.
What batteries does the SureFire M640U use, and is it rechargeable?
The SureFire M640U Scout Light Pro runs on two CR123A lithium cells and is not a rechargeable light. If you want a rechargeable Scout Light Pro, the M640DF and M640DFT are the Dual Fuel models.
How far does the M640U throw?
The SureFire M640U Scout Light Pro produces 11,300 candela peak beam intensity for approximately 213 metres of beam distance. Its 1000 lumens output is spread into a wide flood, which suits searching and close work rather than long-range identification.
How long does the M640U run?
The SureFire M640U Scout Light Pro runs for approximately 1.25 hours on a fresh pair of CR123A lithium cells.
